Right now, you can search any one of the volumes of the Early Church Fathers, using Words Close Together technology. Simply click on any one of the 37 links further down this page.Next priority: Search All 37 Volumes at Once
The average volume in the Early Church Fathers has over 580,000 words. Our priority now is to make it possible for you to search for any combination of words, part words, phrases, etc. across the more than 22 million words in all 37 volumes combined. We plan to make this higher level search of the full text of the Early Church Fathers available on CD-ROM so that you can have this power on your desktop or laptop.
Step 2: It's clean-up time!
You will notice typographical and scanning errors, plus some paragraphs either too short or too long. Correcting all this using a text editor would be an enormous task -- about a thousand hours (six months full time) if one were able to correct one of the 6000 files every ten minutes. So we are building and testing tools to automate the clean-up. Expect only a bit of clean-up for now, but much more to come in the future.
