The "Switch Bookshelf " option
The Words CloseTogether system is used to create collections of electronic books. The smallest collection is termed a "bookshelf"; it may have up to 4 million words, plus any number of pictures or graphic displays. At this site, the bookshelves vary from single volume such as Brother Lawrence's classic The Practice of the Presence of God to compilations such as the Documents of Vatican II.
There are two ways to transfer from on bookshelf to another.
One is to click on the Switch Bookshelf link at the right of the search entry layout. You will be shown a catalog of current bookshelves. Simply click on one of them, and you will be taken to a Table of Contents (list of the major headings) within that bookshelf. You will also notice the name of the new bookshelf adjacent to the box for entering search words.
The second way to switch bookshelves is faster, because it skips showing the list of headings. If your browser handles scripts, simply place your mouse cursor over the "Select a library" in the navigation bar at the top of the page. It will show you groups of bookshelves. You may click on the group. Some of the groups open up to show individual documents. You may click on one of these. You are returned to the home page, and the new bookshelf name will be displayed.
Note that your Internet browser requires cookies to track which bookshelf you wish to search. Be assured that we will never place third party "tracking" cookies on your computer, or for that matter, anything beyond that which will maintain your preferences and the name of the bookshelf that you have selected to search or browse.
Why another search engine? Here is why.
